My Skydive Experience!

First of all let me just say a massive thank you to everyone who supported me in this and helped raise the money! I raised over £420 in total, which I think is pretty impressive as I didn't think I'd raise more than a £5er! haha. I've got my hands on the video and I'm excited about sharing this experience with you!
I wanted to upload a video onto YouTube to celebrate hitting 5000 subscribers! Eeeek, how exciting is that! So I thought what better way than to upload the video of me practically pooping my pants while falling through the sky at 120mph from 13,000ft up?! Exactly, so without further ado, here it is! Enjoy!
I'm usually behind the camera these days, so this was new ground to me, however, I hope you got a little bit of a taste of what it was like! Mind blowing, overwhelming, incredible... Just a few words to describe it! The shot at 0:24 still makes me go weak at the knees!
For those of you who don't know, I was taking part in a group sponsored skydive for the charity Follow Your Dreams. You'll be pleased to hear that in total we raised over £10,000!! How amazing is that?! (Read more about that here) There was 18 other Follow Your Dreams jumpers on that day, who were sweaters by the end of it! (Oh come on, that was funny... )
I did my jump at Skydive Swansea and we struck super lucky with the weather! With a grey morning I was expecting it to rain and be very cloudy, but as you can see from the video and photos it was beautifully clear when I jumped! What a view overlooking Swansea bay!
The sensations of free-falling for 45 seconds is so surreal, it's almost like you want to grab hold of something to stop but there's nothing to grab, just air all around you! I felt like Alice in Wonderland as she fell down the rabbit hole. After the free-fall it was stunning, I'm scared of heights but it was fine when the parachute was up as it was a lot slower and I felt fairly safe! It's a completely different experience of heights to when you're stood at the top of a skyscraper.

My instructor, Paul, was fantastic, he reassured me as we were going up in the plane and gave me clear instructions to make sure I made it down in one piece (and attached to him!) The whole experience was so liberating, and it was even better to know that it was for a great cause!
Have you ever done a skydive? What did you think? Or maybe you really want to do one? Comment below if you have any questions or want to share your experience!

Please note, the images were not taken by me (I'm not that skilled that I can do a skydive and take photos of myself!) The photos are by Mikey Phillips who is part of the team at Skydive Swansea. Mikey also did the video, which we received permission from Carl at Skydive Swansea (via Mike Williams from Follow Your Dreams) to upload to YouTube.
Please email me if there are any issues with this, thank you.
