City Cruises Afternoon Tea Review & Traverse Bloggers Event

I've been blogging for just over 2 years and so I'm always behind the camera trying to capture things, but on Wednesday I decided to mix things up a bit and film my day to London to show you what we get up to, which includes a visit to Smollesky's and a ride on City Cruises!
We drove from South Wales to Hammersmith and parked quite close to the tube to get into London and avoid congestion chargers, we usually do this or we park at Slough. The only thing with Slough is that you have to jump on a train to go to London which takes a bit longer especially as they aren't as regular as tubes. We paid just over £16 for 12 hours of parking right next to the tube, we found it via Just Park which is really easy and instant to use.

Once we got to Hammersmith we went straight to Tower Hill, which is where The Tower bridge is as well as The Tower of London (a famous castle where Anne Boleyn got beheaded). Next we jumped on our City Cruises boat at Tower Millennium pier and went off for an hour and a half to enjoy the views of London while having afternoon tea.

The boat experience was great, it was very clean and staff were friendly and more than happy to help. The food was good too, but as mentioned in my vlog, it wasn't the best afternoon tea I've ever had. However, it did tick all the boxes in terms of what to expect (sandwiches, cakes and scones of course, as well as unlimited tea and coffee). The areas where I thought it lacked was that it didn't offer a variety of tea - I had heartburn that day so I fancied a ginger tea however they didn't have any. The scones were quite dry and I found the salmon a bit tough.
After our afternoon tea experience we made our way to Canary Wharf for the Traverse event with the Philippines Department of Tourism. The event was held at Smollesky's and was a fantastic do. The food was superb and the cocktails went down a treat. We had a live band performing which were awesome and then we had the chance to do our own karaoke (which obviously I did)
We got home at about 3am after a wonderful few hours, huge thanks to City Cruises, Traverse and the Philippines for such a great day! Plus a special thanks to Explore with Ed (Jamie) for letting me use some of his photos!
