Llangoed Hall Restaurant Review (Brecon Beacons)

First of all - happy Mother's Day! As I'm away in Sheffield today covering the Elite Ice Hockey League Challenge Cup Final (wow, that's a mouth full..) I had to celebrate Mother's Day Yesterday with my mum...
Ocean kindly contributed towards my day with my mum and told me to do whatever made her happy, so I asked my mum what she wanted to do and she said she would love to visit Llangoed Hall... So I booked us a table!
After a good hour and a half drive, passing snowy mountains and beautiful scenery on our way, we arrived at this breathtaking hotel which just so happens to be the winner of Sky's 'Best British Wedding Venue' too... Situated in the Wye Valley and full of character, it's not hard to see why Llangoed Hall is a hit...
We found a comfy chair in the welcoming lounge, fitted with antique furniture and a cosy fire, and started our relaxing afternoon with a tea. I went for a classic earl grey and my mum went for a Granny's Garden pot of tea! The large pots of tea were accompanied by 4 warm Welsh cakes, yum!
We then ordered some lunch and decided to get a Caesar salad and a smoked salmon platter to share. The salad was definitely a bigger portion than the salmon but it was nice to share the two. The smoked salmon and the chicken were delicious, and very filling!
The total came to just over £50 so it was definitely a special treat for a special mum, big thanks to Ocean for giving me the freedom and opportunity to enjoy this Mother's Day without worrying about finances!
While Ocean contributed to my bill, I had complete choice about where I went to enjoy the day with my mum.
