Picnic Penarth #2

On Saturday the station approach was brought to life by the second annual Picnic Penarth food festival! I was privileged enough to be part of the organisers along with fellow food blogger Kitchen Clonc.
It was amazing to see the plans come to life as each stall set up for the launch at 5pm on Saturday. We tried to choose a variety of food stands that were both local to Cardiff and also that provided something unique and excellent in its own right.
Pizza Pronto: Samphire with Cracked Pepper & Cherry Tomatoes Pizza
The line up included; Pizza Pronto, Brother Thai, Meat and Greek, Dixies Vintage Ices, Mr Croquewich, Vale of Glamorgan Brewery, Science Cream, Pickled Pepper, James Sommerin, Old Cogan Hall Farm, Umpa Lumpa Sweet Shop, The Bottle Shop & Native Brewing Co.
Brother Thai: Prawn Noodles
With a couple thousand attendees visiting the picnic over the weekend it certainly was a busy one, even with the a slightly chilly Saturday and the RHS Flower Show on just a few miles away.
Native Brewing Co & Science Cream
I caught up with Alice Turner (organiser of the event) to find out her thoughts on the festival:
"Organising Picnic Penarth is such a privilege as it is a real collaborative effort, from the vendors, to the local community pitching in and we love showing what foodie talent there is in South Wales and bringing people to Penarth for a fun weekend of music, dancing, hula-hooping and food and drink."

Dixies: Peanut Butter & Nuts About Toffee Ice Creams
We were so lucky that the sun was shining on Sunday as it made the picnic that extra bit special, did you go to the event? I'd love to see your photos and hear your thoughts if so!

  1. Everything is looking so tempting, These kinds of picnics should happen every year. My friend also planning a picnic I would love to show them this idea and try to make uur picnic more enjoyable. Thank you for your post.
