Home Improvements for 2017

The new year is coming, and if you've been reading my blog then you will have seen some of my home improvement posts such as my Modern Bathroom Mood Board and my Winter Bedroom Inspiration. In this post I'm going to talk about some of my top home styles of 2016 and how now is the time to revamp your house for the new year...

Cosy is in, and shabby chic is the way forward...

Lounge

I took this photo in a gorgeous cottage in Brecon. Not only was the location breathtaking (miles of untouched country side with the streams flowing through), but the interior made me feel right at home from the minute I stepped through the door. Deep woods, a log fire and comfy sofas that would give your bed some competition. You could pick up an antique wooden coffee table from your local flea market (we have a few in Cardiff such as the Indoor Cardiff Flea Market and the Old Pumping Station) to transform your room, no need to buy a pristine piece as the worn appearance adds to the character!

Kitchen

Let's be honest, the kitchen is where we spend most of our time. Whether it's catching up over a family dinner or just making a quick bite before you shoot off to work, so why not make that room extra special with some little bits and bobs. Even a new cutlery set, coasters and/or photos on the wall will make a lot of difference.

Bedroom

This photo was taken of the new John Lewis Christmas range. Choosing comfy bedding will make all the difference to your bed, and adding some cute decorative pieces to spice up your room will bring it to life. I personally added copper fairy lights (warm white) to my room which makes it look so cute in the evening (they also wont break the bank!) Photo by Explore with Ed.

What styles have you loved this year and will you be implementing in the new year? I'd love to know!
